Motion Design Explainer & Hero Film for TEMA
Motion design explainer and hero film for an EU-funded emergency response innovation project.
Overview
The TEMA project develops real-time prediction solutions enabling civil protection agencies and first responders to react faster and safer to evolving emergencies. Funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, TEMA needed video content to communicate its mission across different audiences and platforms.
Challenge
Create two distinct videos serving complementary communication purposes: an educational motion design explainer for professional audiences and a compelling hero film to capture public attention and engage stakeholders on social media.
Our Approach
Motion Design Explainer
Leveraging our expertise in audiovisual production for international organizations, we developed comprehensive visual assets including character design, background artwork, and complete animation style.
We conducted extensive discovery sessions to understand the project’s mission and communication challenges. This collaborative process resulted in:
- Script that translated complex real-time prediction technology into clear, accessible explanations
- Storyboard visualizing emergency response scenarios with custom character design
The explainer video serves as an educational tool for workshops, training sessions, and conferences.

Hero Film
We produced a hero film combining real-world imagery with narrative storytelling to capture attention across social media and set the scene on TEMA’s website. The video translates complex emergency response innovation into accessible content for general audiences and stakeholders.
Impact
The dual video strategy provides TEMA with versatile content: the motion design video educates and informs professional audiences, while the hero film attracts broader public interest and stakeholder engagement across digital channels.
