Digital presence and public speaking workshops for Women in Global Health
20+ women health experts trained across 4 two hour sessions on digital presence and public speaking.
Overview
Women in Global Health is a global network advocating for gender equality in health leadership. The organisation works to advance more inclusive and equitable health systems by supporting women leaders, highlighting structural gaps, and encouraging institutions to strengthen representation, policies, and accountability.
Challenge
As WGH prepared to launch its Speakers Bureau platform, the goal was to spotlight women experts across global health fields and contribute to more balanced representation in public discussions. The initiative responds to a long-standing visibility gap in health-related speaking opportunities, where women’s expertise is still not consistently reflected across panels, events, and media platforms.
Our agency led the Navigating the Digital Age and Public Speaking modules, equipping the 20+ participants with the tools to amplify their voices online, strengthen advocacy, and increase their visibility on stage and across digital platforms.
Objectives:
- Help speakers understand the digital landscape and its power dynamics
- Build practical skills for content creation, platform selection, and message delivery
- Expand WGH’s online presence through active speaker engagement
- Strengthen public speaking confidence and clarity across panels, events, and media settings
- Encourage speakers to proactively shape narratives rather than react to them
Workshop design:
The programme was built to shift participants from digital bystanders to active communicators. It equipped them with a clear understanding of where conversations happen online and what drives visibility, then moved into how to use those spaces with purpose.
The session prioritized action over theory. Participants posted live content, tested messaging in real time, and developed digital strategies using realistic WGH scenarios, while also strengthening their ability to carry those messages into panels, events, and media appearances.
Rather than absorb information, speakers left knowing what to say, where to say it, and how to show up online with intention.
Long term impact:
- Growing cohort of digitally confident spokespeople
- Strengthened ability to engage in public conversations proactively and consistently
- By equipping women leaders with practical digital communication skills, the programme supports more inclusive representation in public forums and speaking spaces across global health
