Overview
The Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) brings together Africa and Europe to enhance access to sustainable, modern energy across Africa. Focused on addressing the energy crisis, the partnership fosters economic development, facilitates political dialogue, and supports the UN’s SDG7 objective of affordable and reliable energy for all. AEEP needed to communicate their journey, key milestones, and impact since 2007 in a compelling visual format.
Challenge
Distill 15 years of complex achievements in sustainable energy access into an accessible, engaging 3-minute video that highlights challenges, progress, and socio-economic impact, particularly for communities facing energy poverty.
Approach
We produced a dynamic mixed media animation combining photography, motion graphics, and narrative storytelling.
Production Strategy:
- Created an attention-grabbing opening sequence highlighting Africa’s energy challenges and setting the stage for AEEP’s impact story
- Organized content chronologically from 2007 to present, clearly conveying AEEP’s growth and sustainable energy solutions
- Incorporated parallax and motion effects to create movement and depth.
- Voice-over guided viewers through milestones, providing context for achievements and emphasizing the importance of improved energy access and economic development
- Adhered to AEEP’s visual identity (colors, fonts, and style) ensuring unified messaging aligned with partnership values across all platforms
Impact
The video exceeded client expectations, effectively communicating AEEP’s key achievements while amplifying their sustainable energy message. It enhanced AEEP’s ability to connect with target audiences across online platforms, contributing to the global conversation around energy solutions and SDG7.
